Melissa was born and raised in Mount Airy, NC. She studied Business Management at Surry Community College before enlisting in the US Army Military Police, where she remained from 1993-1998.
After leaving the Army, Melissa moved back to Mount Airy, NC, started a construction company, and welcomed her daughter, Joelle and son, Blake. She learned each and every aspect of the construction business, which taught her what to look for (and what to run from!) when walking through homes, giving her an advantage over other agents!
